Band History

Zach- When we where mabey twelve tony and I got out first guitars.  My first guitar was and Austin his was a Squire strat.  The next two years where spent learning to play and writing songs.  I was writing words all the time, but it wasn't until I wrote The Time Has Come , a song inspired by the movie "The Passion Of The Christ", that I had put words to music and wrote our first offical song.  It was about this time we started trying to put a band together.  Originally we called ourselves High Voltage but when my father Suggested the name Soundstorm we decided to chance the name.  We spent a long time trying to put this band together.  It really is hard to find the right people who share the same goals.  The first member to join us was Kurt Sumpter who joined us I think in July 2005.  We had of course met with several other musicians before but not the kind we where looking for.  We discovered Kurt when my cousin introduced us.  Micheal Curtis and Eric Velander joined the band at almost the same time.  Both within the same week I know.  Me and Micheal where friends from wrestling and began jamming together for fun.  When we where asked to do a song for a friends spanish project we played infront of Eric Velander who was in that class.  The next day Eric approached me and offered to sing if we ever needed vocalist.  Within the same Tony went from playing guitar to drums making room for Michael.  Their is a closeness now between the band.  Our love for music come out when we play together.  It is hard to explain, but it is great.
